GET INVOLVED

missions

Christ Lutheran Church is proud to announce our involvement in the upcoming 2013 Panama Mission Trip, involving community outreach and light construction.

CLC will partner with Lutheran Hour Ministries as we reach out to the community in Panama by participating in Project JOEL, a program teaching teens Christian values in public schools. Other activities will include working with Redeemer Lutheran Church and their puppet ministry at the Pediatric Hospital. Through these outreach programs, 150 students will be reached with Project JOEL and approximately 100 children and parents in the Children’s hospital. Our Panama mission team will also help Redeemer Lutheran by providing funds for construction of a fence that will surround the church property as well as some light painting.

Please contact Larry Weisenberger, Michelle Molinare, or Margaret Kinney, if you are interested in going or helping organize this event.

Why go on a mission trip to another country?

  • A mission trip puts God clearly in the forefront of our lives.
  • A mission trip makes us more at ease and increase our urgency for sharing our faith at home.
  • A mission trip exposes the vast reality of lost-ness, depravity, and poverty in the world.
  • A mission trip makes us more grateful for God’s abundant grace.
  • A mission trip helps us embrace our roll as servants for our Lord.
  • A mission trip makes us a blessing to others.
  • A mission trip is a sacrificial gift of love to our Lord and the people we serve.
  • CLC is planning a third world mission trip for 2013. Since this will be a new experience for many of us, we plan to take small steps. We are excited and eager to see what God has planned and hope you will prayerfully consider joining us. Please contact the church office if you are interested in going, or helping organize this servant event.

A message from Larry & Barbara Weisenberger, CLC Members :

"As it says in Matthew 9:37-38, Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his field'. Some of you know I recently had an opportunity to travel to the distant land of Brazil. Making this happen was not at all easy, however, it was very much worth the effort. I teamed up with four wonderful Christians from the state of Louisiana. Arriving at this South American countries’ airport, we were warmly greeted by two native Brazilian Pastors. One served as our translator from Portuguese to English and vice versa, and the other Pastor worked very closely with us as we conducted our street evangelism in his hometown of Guarapari. During our 10-day adventure, we spoke to young-adult English conversation classes, as well as children at VBS programs at local schools. We handed out literature at an outdoor concert, canvassed the neighborhood and the nearby beautiful ocean-side beach. We planted the seeds of the Gospel wherever we went. I pray daily that we accomplished works for the greater glory of God and the hearts of the people we talked to will come to accept Jesus as their Savior. Ultimately, all glory, honor and praise are that of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit working through us. For without Jesus - and we as a team all agreed on this from the start - we achieve nothing on our own."
